The 10th stage of the Giro d'Italia 2025 promises to be an exciting individual time trial. The route is predominantly flat with a short climb in the centre. The start is in Lucca, where the riders first circle almost the entire city wall. They then head through the southern part of the city, where there are several bends to negotiate. After the first intermediate time, the route becomes straighter and there is a slight climb to the Monti Pisani tunnel, which is 950 metres long. After the tunnel, the riders reach San Giuliano Terme and Asciano. The last three kilometres are in Pisa, where the finish line is right next to the Leaning Tower. In the final kilometres, the riders have to master several bends and river crossings. About one kilometre before the finish, the route leaves the riverbank and leads into the city centre. At 500 metres, the athletes encounter cobblestones, which continue until the last bend. The finishing straight for the final sprint is 200 metres long and six metres wide.

The profile of the 10th stage of the Giro d'Italia 2025 points to a fast individual time trial in which the specialists can play to their strengths. The predominantly flat route favours riders with a high basic speed and aerodynamic position. The short climb to the Monti Pisani tunnel in the middle of the course will not pose too much of a challenge for the rouleurs. The technical passages at the beginning in Lucca and at the end in Pisa also require good bike handling skills. The cobblestone passage in the last 500 metres could be particularly decisive and once again demands maximum concentration from the riders. For the overall classification riders, this stage offers an opportunity to make up or lose important seconds. The iconic finish at the Leaning Tower of Pisa also lends the time trial a special atmosphere and should provide some impressive images.
