The speeds that can be achieved with the Tour de France are breathtaking. The professionals often speed through France at more than 50 kilometres per hour. This is made possible by the ultra-modern racing bikes used by the teams.
Today's professional bike models are also eye-catching. TOUR takes a look at the racing bikes of the 22 teams that will be competing in Copenhagen on 1 July.

Primoz Roglic is making another attempt this year to finally be crowned Tour winner. The material should not be a problem. Cervelo has provided Jumbo-Visma with a racing bike with a feather-light frame.
The British Ineos team rides the most successful bike brand still in existence at the Tour de France (15 overall victories). With the Dogma F, the successor to the former Sky team has a top racing bike at its disposal. However, it has a small weakness, as the TOUR test showed.
The Aeroad is a success story. Mathieu van der Poel won the Tour of Flanders in 2020 and 2022 for Alpecin-Fenix on the Aero road bike. In 2021, the Aeroad helped him win the yellow jersey at the Tour de France, which the Dutchman wore for six days.
Movistar and Arkea Samsic also rely on the Koblenz-based brand. TOUR shows why the Canyon road bike is so impressive.
The Prototipo is the bike of choice for Tadej Pogacar and the UAE Emirates team. However, the race all-rounder from the traditional Italian manufacturer is only being used by the Slovenian cycling star's team at the Tour de France and is not yet in production.
The Foil RC is already being used by Team DSM at the Tour de France. TOUR has trialled an exclusive prototype.
Many professional racing bikes, which are also used in the Tour de France, now cost 10,000 euros and more. For example, the Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL7, currently one of the most successful competition racing bikes, costs up to 16,000 euros.
But there is also good news. For those who don't want to pay such a high price, manufacturers often offer a slimmed-down version of the professional racing bikes at a lower price. You can read about the differences between the expensive and cheaper versions here.
