They have opted for the R5 all-round racing bike, which looks like a counter-design to the radically designed S5. At less than 800 grams, the rather slender frame is currently one of the lightest on the market; depending on the equipment, the bike is one of the few that can scratch the UCI minimum weight of 6.8 kilograms even with disc brakes. The two models are also worlds apart in terms of comfort: The R5* spoils even light riders on poor roads with a formidably springy seat post.
The riding position is comparatively upright for a competition racer. However, the Canadian manufacturer has not neglected its speciality of aerodynamics on this model either. So-called Kammtail profiles on the tubes in the wind, whose cross-section resembles a cut-off droplet, make the frame comparatively streamlined, but not significantly heavier. In the latest facelift, the cables were also integrated into the cockpit. However, as comparable features are now widespread among other manufacturers, the bike doesn't really stand out - the bike came out of the TOUR wind tunnel test with an average performance.
