Fabio Jakobsen gewinnt die zweite Etappe der Tour de France

Dutch rider Fabio Jakobsen has won the second stage of the 109th Tour de France.

The 25-year-old from the team Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl took victory in the sprint after 202.2 kilometres from Roskilde to Nyborg ahead of Belgian Wout Van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) and the Dane Mads Pedersen (Trek-Segafredo).

Van Aert takes yellow jersey at the Tour de France

Thanks to the time credit, Van Aert took over the yellow jersey from season opener winner Yves Lampaert, who had already experienced a scary moment on the bridge over the Great Belt. After a crash, the Belgian was temporarily left behind, but with the help of his team-mates he made it back into the peloton.

On Sunday, the tour will conclude with a guest appearance in Denmark with the third stage over 183 kilometres from Vejle to Sönderborg continued. This will be followed by the first rest day before the race continues in France on Tuesday.
