The Belgians had their best year in 2018 with 73 wins. The men of outgoing team manager Patrick Lefevere won't be able to match that for a long time in 2024. However, 34 successes still mean third place globally in this year's ranking behind UAE Team Emirates (81) and Lidl-Trek (42). However, one of the big classics - once the domain of Soudal - Quick Step - was not won this year. Instead, they won five Grand Tour stages: four in the Giro d'Italia and one in the Tour de France.
Tim Merlier is the most successful rider at Soudal - Quick Step 2024 with 15 victories, followed by Remco Evenepoel with six. Merlier's tally includes three stages of the Giro d'Italia and three at the UAE Tour. His victory at the European Championships in September, which is not included in these statistics as it was won for the national team, means that he will be riding in a special jersey for at least another six months.
Mauri Vansevenant leads this category at Soudal - Quick Step with 81 race days ahead of Louis Vervaeke (75) and Ilan van Wilder (72). The gap is even more striking in terms of race kilometres in 2024. Vansevenant raced 12822 kilometres. His programme also included two Grand Tours, the Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a Espana. This means that the 25-year-old Belgian has 1470 more kilometres of racing under his belt than second-placed Vervaeke.
From a German perspective, Team Soudal - Quick Step 2025 is exciting again, as it is the new or old home of Maximilian Schachmann, who was already under contract there in 2017 and 2018. Can he regain his old strength with the Belgians? Other notable new arrivals include Ethan Hayter - a fast finisher, brought in for tough races that end in sprints - and Valentin Paret-Peintre - a rider for the high mountains who will assist Remco Evenepoel in the Grand Tours. Julian Alaphilippe and Kasper Asgreen are two of the team's figureheads who will be difficult to replace.
