Hunt presents four new Adventure wheelsets for people who push the boundaries. The aim of the product team is to cover these three points: "go as far as possible, progress efficiently and have confidence in the material".
The four new wheelsets include one with a hub dynamo, one without, one for the most adverse weather conditions and one for combination with the Classified Powershift system.
For the further development of the Hunt Limitless Gravel Aero wheels, Hunt has worked closely with a number of Hunt Beyond athletes.
The aim of Hunt's collaboration with its athletes was to adapt the wheels to the demands of the toughest ultra-distance races in the world.
There are two versions of the new Hunt 40 Limitless Gravel Adventure wheels: one without and one with a dynamo. The wheels are designed for demanding and remote terrain, but offer a lightweight, aerodynamically efficient and robust setup. For the dynamo, Hunt relies on the SON 28 dynamo hub, which not only operates the bike lights but can also be used to charge electronics. For some, this is essential for multi-day bikepacking races, for most it makes everyday life easier. With a dynamo, you don't have to worry about whether the lights are charged or not. Ride off and light up.
The manufacturer claims that the wheelsets are specially optimised for the demands of the toughest ultra-distance races. The models offer an aerodynamically efficient design with front/rear-specific rim shapes: The front rim measures 40 millimetres deep with an outer width of 36 millimetres and an inner width of 27 millimetres, while the rear rim is 41 millimetres deep with an outer width of 35 millimetres and an inner width of 26 millimetres.
Both versions have wider 4.5 millimetre rim flanges, which should offer more protection against snakebites than conventional rim flanges. The wheelsets are equipped with 24 spokes at the front and 28 spokes at the rear, which should ensure a more even distribution of force and less stress on the components. The manual assembly is carried out with corrosion-resistant brass nipples and double-sealed stainless steel industrial bearings. The standard version comes with the H_Ratchet 48T DBL hub system, a double-sided ratchet system with 48 teeth and a 7.5 degree pressure angle. The wheelset without dynamo weighs 1530 grams with the H_Ratchet hub and 1836 grams with the SON 28 dynamo hub. The price is 1849 euros for the standard version and 2249 euros for the dynamo version.
The 4 Season Carbon Dura is the first carbon wheelset from Hunt that has been explicitly designed for adverse conditions and offers the highest system weight limit in the HUNT portfolio. According to the manufacturer, the carbon lamination has been completely redesigned and reinforced to be more fatigue and impact resistant, while maintaining a low rotating mass for agile response and good climbing performance.
The rims of the 4 Season Carbon Dura measure 40 millimetres in depth, 30 millimetres on the outside and 22 millimetres on the inside. The wheelset is equipped with 24 spokes at the front and 28 spokes at the rear and is assembled by hand using brass nipples. Hunt states that the wheelset is suitable for bikepacking or rack setups, heavier riders (up to 145 kilograms system weight, the highest in the Hunt portfolio) and rough terrain. The triple-butted J-bend spokes are said to offer a high strength-to-weight ratio and easy maintenance.
The hub used is the H_Ratchet 36T SGL system, which offers 10-degree engagement and optimised load distribution via the sprocket system. The system weight is 1478 grams and the price is 1149 euros.
The Classified x Hunt 40 Carbon Gravel Race combines the popular 40 Carbon Gravel Race with Classified Powershift technology. The wheelset is manufactured with the new H_Cyclo recyclable resin and carbon technology, which, according to Hunt, enables complete separation and reuse of carbon fibres and resin components at the end of their life without generating waste solvents.
The rims of the Classified x Hunt 40 Carbon Gravel Race measure 40 millimetres in depth, 30 millimetres in outer width and 25 millimetres in inner width. The special feature of this wheelset is the integration of the Classified Powershift rear hub body, which combines the bandwidth of a 2x drivetrain with the simplicity and aero advantages of a single chainring. The system weight is 1333 grams (without the Classified PowerShift hub internals), the price is 1449 euros.
Hunt emphasises the practicality of the new wheelsets in extreme racing situations. The 40 Limitless Gravel Adventure models have already been used by Cynthia Carson in the Transcontinental Race 2025 (4,674 kilometres with 63,659 vertical metres in 12 days, 7 hours, 33 minutes, 2nd place women), Sofiane Sehili's Eurasia World Record attempt 2025 (19,000 kilometres, 17 countries) and Josh Ibbett's Traka Adventure 2025 (560 kilometres, over 10,000 vertical metres).
All four new wheelsets are now available. The wheelsets are dispatched from the Hunt warehouses in West Sussex (UK), Boulder (USA) and Dresden (Germany).
