Sweet Protection Tucker III 2Vi Mips
Sweet Protection has unveiled its latest aero road cycling helmet, the Tucker III 2Vi Mips. Developed in collaboration with the Uno-X Mobility Cycling Team, the helmet made its debut at the Tour de France 2025, where Jonas Abrahamsen won a stage. With a weight of 320 grams and optimised aerodynamics, the helmet promises maximum performance in breakaways and sprints. The Tucker III 2Vi Mips will be available from March 2026.

The new helmet is specially designed for road cyclists who want to save crucial watts at high speeds in order to deliver high performance for longer or have the necessary reserves for the final sprint. The Tucker III 2Vi Mips celebrated its premiere at the Tour de France 2025, where Jonas Abrahamsen from the Uno-X Mobility Cycling Team won a stage with this helmet. The helmet was developed for speeds between 45 km/h and 50 km/h and has extensive Wind tunnel tests and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analyses, with every detail designed to maximise drag reduction and speed. With a weight of 320 grams in size M/L, the helmet offers first-class protection despite its aerodynamic design thanks to the integrated 2Vi technology and the Mips system, which is designed to reduce rotational forces in the event of a fall.

Technical features and design

The Tucker III 2Vi Mips has a 4-shell construction that enables a particularly snug fit. The aerodynamic efficiency is supported by a flat design with a straight cut-out at the rear and a slight bevel to minimise air turbulence. Despite the focus on aerodynamics, ventilation has not been neglected: the helmet features optimised front vents, an advanced internal airflow structure and a rear channel that efficiently dissipates fast-flowing air.

Additional comfort is provided by the 360 Occigrip fit system, which enables customised adjustment. A practical feature is the integrated goggle storage with temple guide. For riders looking for maximum aerodynamic benefits, Sweet Protection offers optional snap-on covers to further reduce air resistance. The helmet is certified to EN 1077 and CPSC 1203 and is available in three sizes: S/M, M/L and L/XL. The Tucker III 2Vi Mips will be available from 18 March 2026 at a recommended retail price of €349.00 in the colours Burnt Brown, Bronco White, Light Lilac, Matte Black and Satin White.

Development in collaboration with professional athletes

The Tucker III 2Vi Mips was developed in close collaboration with the Uno-X Mobility Cycling Team, with a particular focus on the real-life requirements of racing. Casper von Folsach, Performance Coach at Uno-X Cycling Teams, explains the specific development approach: "We have found that most helmets designed for time trials, which are also increasingly used in road races, work particularly well in the head-down position. However, this position can only be maintained for a few seconds in a road race. On average, it was faster to keep the head tilted slightly forwards. It was therefore a matter of course for us to develop the helmet specifically for optimum performance in this position."

These practical findings were directly incorporated into the design of the helmet, which was specially designed for breakaways, solo efforts and sprints. The partnership between Sweet Protection and Uno-X Mobility Cycling has existed since 2019 and has accompanied both brands through various stages of development - from the Continental team to the WorldTour.

Uno-X Mobility Cycling Team: ambitions for 2026

The Uno-X Mobility Cycling Team is looking ahead to an ambitious 2026 season with the new helmet. The team plans to take part in 365 race days, starting on 17 January at the Tour Down Under in Australia and ending on 18 October at the Tour of Guangxi in China. The men's team will be focussing on the spring classics, while at the same time aiming to build on their successes in the Grand Tours. After the successful debut at the Tour de France 2025 with a stage win by Jonas Abrahamsen, debuts at the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a España are now also on the agenda. The goal is clearly defined: more stage wins and a strong overall placing in the Tour de France.

The women's team focuses on continuous development and consistency at the highest level. For the 2026 season, the team is aiming for competitive overall placings in both the Giro d'Italia Donne and the Tour de France Femmes. Erik Hegbom, General Manager at Sweet Protection, emphasises the importance of the collaboration: "It is important for us to work with teams that share our high standards. With Uno-X Mobility, we focus on developing the safest, fastest and best performing products for training and racing worldwide. It's a privilege to be part of Uno-X Mobility's success story of helping riders win, and this partnership is central to our global growth strategy and continues to drive our momentum."
