The Italian sports equipment manufacturer Rudy Project is expanding its range of helmets with a sustainable model. With the new Sinergy helmet, the company is presenting a product that has been developed according to the principles of eco-design and is intended to redefine the relationship between safety, comfort and ecological responsibility. The helmet was officially unveiled at the Italian Bike Festival and will be available from authorised dealers and in the manufacturer's online shop from October 2025. A key feature of the helmet is the use of just one material: both the outer shell and the inner protective layer are made of polystyrene (PS) and expanded polystyrene (EPS). This single-material construction is intended to make disposal and recycling considerably easier - without compromising on lightness, functionality or durability, according to the manufacturer. The helmet weighs 250 grams in size M and is made from over 60 per cent recyclable materials. The Sinergy will be available in two sizes (S/M and L) and in six colour variants at a recommended retail price of 69.90 euros.
The Sinergy helmet differs from conventional helmets due to its focus on sustainability. While very different materials are often combined in the industry, Rudy Project has opted for a single-material construction for this model. "With Sinergy, we want to show that innovation and sustainability are not opposites, but part of a shared vision that is orientated towards the future of sport and the planet," explains Simone Barbazza, Sustainability Manager at Rudy Project. "We have invested in research and development to rethink not only the design of the helmet, but the entire life cycle of the product." The helmet is part of the company's "Ride To Zero" initiative, which aims to gradually reduce the environmental impact of all activities and collections. The manufacturer is pursuing a practical approach that takes the entire product life cycle into account: from material selection and modular design to packaging and logistics.
The Sinergy helmet has eleven ventilation openings, which are designed to ensure breathability and comfort even on hot days. The inner padding is removable and washable, which should ensure a hygienic and comfortable fit. To adapt to different head shapes, the helmet is equipped with the RSR adjustment system from Rudy Project, which enables micrometric adjustment in height and width. Thanks to its versatility, the helmet is suitable for various areas of use: from road cycling and gravel adventures to daily commuting in the city. With its modern design and comparatively affordable price, Rudy Project is positioning the Sinergy as a solution for cyclists looking for a reliable, functional and environmentally friendly helmet without having to compromise on comfort or safety.
