Trek Speed Concept

The 2021 "Speed Concept" model from the Trek brand is an advanced triathlon and time trial bike known for its aerodynamic efficiency and advanced technology. With a price tag of 5599 EUR, this bike offers a range of high-quality components and technical features that make it a top choice for ambitious athletes.

The frame is made from 500 Series OCLV Carbon and features a KVF (Kammtail Virtual Foil) tube profile that optimises aerodynamics. It is compatible with a wide range of accessories, including the Speed Fin, DuoTrap, SC Draft Box 2 and SC Speed Box 2. The permissible total weight is 125 kg, while the bike itself weighs just 9 kg.

The integrated Bontrager Speed Limit brakes at the front and rear and the aerodynamic Bontrager Race Lite brakes ensure reliable deceleration. The Shimano Dura-Ace bar end shifter with 11 gears enables precise shifting, supported by the Shimano Ultegra R8000 braze-on front derailleur. The aero handlebars from Bontrager with KVF profile are UCI-compliant and are complemented by the Bontrager Speed Concept stem. The handlebar tape also comes from Bontrager, which provides additional comfort. The headset consists of integrated, sealed bearings.

The Bontrager R2 Hard-Case Lite tyres in size 700 x 25C are tubeless-ready and, together with the Bontrager Aeolus Comp wheelset, offer outstanding performance. The saddle is a Bontrager Hilo Comp with CrMo tube stays, mounted on a Bontrager Speed Concept Race Lite aluminium seatpost.

The geometry of the bike has been carefully thought out: the reach is 39 mm, the stack is 49 mm, the seat tube length is 50 mm and the top tube length is also 50 mm. The head tube angle is 72 degrees, the seat tube angle is 78 degrees, the head tube length is 6 mm and the chainstay length is 40 mm. The standover height is 75 mm and the wheelbase is 96 mm.
