The Belgian team Soudal Quick-Step led by superstar Remco Evenepoel, won the team time trial on the second day of the UAE Tour 2023. The team finished one second behind EF Education EasyPost in second place. Third place went to the team Ineos Grenadiersfor which the new overall leader Luke Plapp rides. Fourth place went to Bahrain-Victorious. The German Nikias Arndt, who rides for Bahrain-Victorious, has improved to third place overall. The 31-year-old had previously finished a creditable fifth in the first stage of the tour.
On the approximately 17-kilometre route with the finish line at Khalifa Port, the German team finished Bora-Hansgrohe - including Emanuel Buchmann - seventh place, 15 seconds behind.
Australian Plapp took the lead in the overall standings of the seven-day tour through the United Arab Emirates. He replaced Tim Merlier, who had won the opening stage of the tour.
