From 20 February to 26 February 2023, the UAE Tour will be the second World Tour of the year after the Tour Down Under. Here is an overview of the most important information.

The UAE Tour is an annual professional cycling race in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It was held for the first time in 2019 and is part of the UCI World Tour. The first edition was won by Primoz Roglic in 2019, followed by Adam Yates in 2020 and Tadej Pogacar from Slovenia in 2021 and 2022.

UAE Tour: Popular race to kick off the season

The Tour of the UAE has become one of the most popular races at the start of the cycling season due to its route and the sunny weather. However, the event has also been criticised due to the human rights situation in the Emirates.

The UAE Tour 2023 comprises a total of seven stages, on which 1016.3 kilometres have to be covered. The riders will face climbs, such as Jebel Jais (stage 3) and Jebel Hafeet (stage 7), as well as flat stages and a team time trial on the second day.
