Stefan Küng wins the final stage of the Tour of the Algarve 2023
Stefan Küng has won the individual time trial at the Tour of the Algarve. Daniel Felipe Martinez snatched overall victory on the final day.

On the 24.4 kilometres around Lagoa, the Swiss Stefan Küng (Groupama-FDJ) was the fastest with a time of 29:34 minutes. Daniel Felipe Martinez (Ineos Grenadiers) was 16 seconds slower and finished fourth on the day. That was enough to take the yellow jersey from his team-mate Thomas Pidcock and keep Filippo Ganna (also Ineos Grenadiers) at a distance of two seconds.

Pidcock, who took the overall lead on Saturday with a victory on the Alto do Malhaodid not have a good day in the individual time trial and finished 19th. The Brit had to survive a scary moment on the way when he hit an embankment with his bike, but was able to steer out of the situation. From a German perspective, Nils Politt (Bora-Hansgrohe) achieved a good result in ninth place on the day.
