After four stage wins in a row by Tadej Pogacar (3) and Tim Wellens (1), the Emirates team's run came to an end on the final day of the Tour of Andalusia. After 184.3 kilometres between Otura and Alhaurin de la Torre, Omar Fraile (Ineos Grenadiers) ahead of Alessandro Covi (UAE Team Emirates) through.
Pogacar had pulled out all the stops for Covi in the final kilometres of the demanding finale to give him the day's victory, but the 24-year-old Italian was no match for Fraile's attack. Third place went to Andrea Pasqualon (Bahrain-Victorious).
However, Pogacar's overall victory was no longer in danger. The two-time Tour de France winner is in impressive early form, which he demonstrated with stage wins on stages one, two and four and with his triumph in the one-day race Clasica Jaen Paraiso Interior impressively demonstrated on Monday.
