Over the past 19 years, the TOUR Transalp has developed into the most spectacular stage race for cyclists of all abilities in Europe. From 18 to 24 June 2023, hundreds of enthusiastic racing cyclists from more than 35 nations will once again experience sporty routes, impressive mountain passes, famous stage locations and a great cycling community. As part of the Explorer Days (limited to 200 participants), you can gain an insight into the stage race and get your first taste of the TOUR Transalp.
Participants can either use only the First stage or the first two riders - the offer is outside the classification and only for individual starters. The first stage from Lienz to Silian leads over the Staller Sattel and, with 113 kilometres and 2000 metres of altitude, is a tough start, but is rewarded with a landscape experience in the category of honour. The first stage leads into one of the great valleys of East Tyrol, the Defereggen Valley. This carves its way into the mountains from east to west and creates access to the Hohe Tauern, whose peaks stretch up to over 3000 metres on its northern flank.
If you want more, you can also opt for the second stage to ride along. On the 134 kilometres and 3300 metres of altitude difference to Primiero/San Martino di Castrozza, the athletes get a good impression of how challenging a TOUR Transalp stage can be - and how many impressive panoramas and peaks you can experience in one day. The celebrities of the Dolomites, a Unesco World Heritage Site, stand guard along the route: Three Peaks, Monte Cristallo, Hohe Gaisl, Antelao, Tofana, Monte Pelmo, Civetta and the Pale di San Martino.
Participation in the Explorer Days costs 90 euros for the first stage and 180 euros for the first two stages. The package includes the return transfer to the start location, luggage service, free catering on the route and at the finish as well as bike wash and medical care during the race. Registrations for the Explorer Days are now open.
If you decide to stay overnight in the legendary Transalp Camp at a reasonable price, you can book this option by emailing service@yunique.de. This means you are close to the start and finish and surrounded by an international cycling community.
