Van Rysel RCR-F is the name of the new aero racing bike that has been added to the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale team's range. In addition to the RCR-F, the riders led by Austrian Felix Gall will continue to have the RCR at their disposal, which was launched in the year 2023 the fastest road bike tested by TOUR was. The fleet is completed by the XCR time trial racer.
The team version of the new RCR-F in the colours black, blue and green was presented on Monday, but there were no details about the equipment. These are to be announced soon. The press release states full-bodied: "The RCR-F has been specially developed to glide over the road at impressive speeds and redefines the standards for aero bikes." However, it remains to be seen whether it can deliver what it promises.
It is clear that the new product is probably the bike, that TOUR had already spotted at the Tour de France. Before the Grand Depart, we were able to take a look at the FCR Pro at the time. In addition to the eye-catching paintwork and the aero tyres, the flat tube shapes on the head tube, fork and seat tube were striking. The aero racer, which was mounted unattended on a support vehicle, was fitted with a single drivetrain with a chainring from the British tuning company Drag2Zero. The cockpit came from Deda, the wheels from Swiss Side.
The rest of the kit for the coming season was also unveiled at the team presentation. Van Rysel supplies almost everything: goggles, helmets, jersey. When it comes to the jersey, the team is talking about a redesign "from the ground up". At first glance, however, hardly anything has changed compared to the 2024 version. The basic colours of blue and green remain, with the exception of the Space design is no longer visible. Instead, the jersey now has a smoother structure and, according to the press release, has been aerodynamically optimised again in the wind tunnel.
