The Specialized racing bikes from Bora-Hansgrohe will ride with SRAM components in the 2024 season. This has now been confirmed by the Raubling-based racing team. Rumours of a possible switch to the US company had already emerged in December after Emil Herzog's Specialized was spotted with SRAM components.

Primoz Roglic already riding for Jumbo-Visma with SRAM components

New signing Primoz Roglic will therefore not have to change his gear in the German team. The Slovenian, who has won the Vuelta a Espana and once the Giro d'Italia was already travelling with SRAM components at Jumbo-Visma - albeit on Cervélo-racing bikes. The Dutch top team made the switch from Shimano to SRAM for the 2023 season, and Roglic's new team-mate Jai Hindley is delighted with the new equipment on his bike.

"I've already been able to test the Red AXS groupset and I'm very happy with it. Above all, the possibility of riding with a single chainring in some races or stages can be very advantageous," the Australian, himself winner of the Giro d'Italia in 2022, is quoted as saying in the Bora-Hansgrohe press release.

Roglic already rode with a single chainring like this in the 2023 Giro d'Italia, which he won in the decisive mountain time trial to Monte Lussari.

In addition to the change of component manufacturer, the Red Bull's planned majority shareholding in Bora-Hansgrohe made the headlines this week. The drinks group is planning to acquire 51 per cent of Ralph Denk's World Tour team.
