On 1 July, the Tour de France will start in Denmark's capital Copenhagen with an individual time trial. Cycling fans can follow the Grand Depart and the other 20 stages on TV and also on the internet via livestream. The Tour de France will be broadcast in Germany by three TV channels: Das Erste (ARD), ONE and Eurosport 1, all of which can be seen on free-to-air TV.
ARD has signed a new contract with the Tour organiser Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) for live coverage via the sports rights agency SportA. On weekdays, ARD usually broadcasts from around 4.05 pm to 5.30 pm. At weekends, the broadcast time is slightly longer, depending on the stages.

The Tour de France can also be seen live every day on ONE. All stages can be seen there from half an hour after the start until the start of the broadcast on ARD.
Florian Naß will be the commentator for the main ARD programme with co-commentator Fabian Wegmann. Florian Kurz will be behind the microphone for the internet live stream and ONE, with ex-professionals Paul Voß and Johannes Fröhlinger acting as co-commentators.
The TV channel ONE can be seen in Germany on satellite, cable television and IPTV (ARD Digital). In certain regions, the programme can also be received via aerial. There is also a free Internet live stream available.
Cycling fans can also take advantage of ARD's digital offering. In the ARD media centre and on sportschau.de all daily stages will be shown in a free livestream. In addition to ARD, Eurosport will also be broadcasting the Tour of France on TV on Eurosport 1 and also as a live stream on Eurosportplayerwhich, however, is subject to a charge.
The Eurosport commentator is Karsten Migels, whose current book "Zum Teufel mit der Flamme Rouge" is available from Delius Klasing Verlag. Jens Voigt and Robert Bengsch are there as experts, Bernhard Eisel is on site as a reporter. Birgit Hasselbusch and Marc Rohde also prepare the most important information about the country and its people.
Eurosport also offers a very special treat for cycling fans: the Velo Club, which was already available at the Giro d'Italia gave. In a half-hour analysis show, presenter David Marcour welcomes guests such as Lisa Brennauer and Marcus Burghardt live in the studio and discusses each stage of the Tour de France with them in detail. Top stars from the cycling scene such as Bradley Wiggins, Alberto Contador and Robbie McEwen will also have their say in planned programmes.
