The Vuelta a España 2025 has been running since 23 August 2025 and takes the professional cyclists on 21 stages from the start in Piedmont in Italy to the finish in Madrid. The battle for the overall leader's red jersey fascinates cycling fans around the globe. Without Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates - XRG), Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike), as an absolute Top favourite at the Vuelta at the start. The Dane has never won the third Grand Tour of the year and now wants to change that. His challengers, such as João Almeida (UAE Team Emirates - XRG), Juan Aysuo (UAE Team Emirates - XRG), Felix Gall (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team), Giulio Ciccone (Lidl - Trek), Antonio Tiberi (Bahrain - Victorious) or Giulio Pellizzari (Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe) should not be underestimated, however.
Unlike the Tour de France, the second Grand Tour of the year after the Giro d'Italia, the Vuelta a España 2025 will not be broadcast by ARD. Nevertheless, the race can be seen on free TV. Eurosport 1 is showing the Tour of Spain 2025 today and on all other stage days on linear television. The Vuelta 2025 can also be followed via live stream. The paid streaming service Discovery Plus offers a live stream for every stage.
The third Grand Tour 2025 will be broadcast on Eurosport by Karsten Migels commentated alternately by the Eurosport experts and the Rolf Aldag, Robert Bengsch, Bernhard Eisel and Jens Voigt is supported. Birgit Hasselbusch provides entertaining and informative stories about the country and its people away from the racing action, just as it did for the Giro d'Italia and Tour de France broadcasts.
The Vuelta started on 23 August in Piedmont and ends three weeks later on 14 September in the Spanish capital Madrid. The 21 stages cover a distance of more than 3000 kilometres. The course is much more balanced than last year. The organisers have designated four explicitly flat stages, as well as six medium-difficulty stages, five mountain stages, three hilly stages with an uphill finale, one flat stage with a mountain finish, an individual time trial and a team time trial.
