The Vuelta a Burgos Feminas is the third and final tour in Spain in May. The WorldTour race could be used as a final test for some riders before the Giro d'Italia, which starts next week. While the first three stages of the Vuelta a Burgos Feminas 2026 are primarily on an undulating profile, the final stage features the finish climb to Lagunas de Neila, which traditionally also marks the end of the men's race.

The first stage takes the riders on a circuit with a start and finish in Burgos. At 127 kilometres, it is the longest stage of the tour, although all stages are roughly the same length. Despite the mostly undulating profile, three third-category climbs await on the first day, which could lead to the first breakaway attempts. The Alto de Las Rebolledas climb after just eleven kilometres is the first endurance test of the day with a maximum gradient of 6%.

At first glance, the second day of the Vuelta a Burgos Feminas appears to be as undulating as the first stage, but there is no categorised climb. It therefore seems to be heading towards a sprint finish. The 122-kilometre route takes the riders from Castrojeriz to Bodega Viña Pedrosa, where they have to tackle another smaller circuit before the last kilometre leads in a fairly straight line towards the finish line. With a road width of just four metres, good positioning will be essential for a possible sprint.

Stage 3 | Saturday, 23 May | Busto de Bureba - Medina de Pomar | 126 kilometres

The third stage is once again peppered with three categorised climbs in the third category. Once again, the first one awaits the riders after just a few kilometres, before the route is predominantly undulating towards the circuit before Medina de Pomar. There, the Alto de Bocos is a 2.8 kilometre long climb that has to be conquered twice. With peaks of eight per cent, this is certainly the crux of the penultimate stage. This is where the day's victory could be decided.

Stage 4 | Sunday, 24 May | Gumiel de Mercado - Lagunas de Neila | 120 kilometres

The final stage of this year's Vuelta a Burgos Feminas finishes with the royal climb to Lagunas de Neila, which will take the last of your energy with a maximum gradient of 12 per cent. Before that, there are two tougher third-category climbs. The Alto de Tolbaños climb in particular, with an average gradient of 7.5 per cent, could lead to a stronger selection among the riders. But only the steep finale to Lagunas de Neila will show who will take the overall victory.
