The MyWhoosh platform has announced the official schedule for the public qualifying races for the 2025 UCI Cycling Esports World Championships. A total of four qualifying races will take place in August, giving riders the chance to qualify for the semi-finals. The new points system is based on sprint and mountain classifications during a 32.4 kilometre race.

The fifth edition of the UCI Cycling Esports World Championships is casting its shadow ahead. As the MyWhoosh platform has now announced, the public qualifying races for the prestigious event will take place in August 2025. Parallel to the nominations by the national cycling federations, these open qualifying races offer all verified riders the opportunity to qualify for the World Championships. A total of four qualification races are planned, which will take place on different days and at different times to cater for participants from all time zones. The races will be organised separately by gender, with the women's races always taking place before the men's races. The new format consists of a single 32.4 kilometre race with two sprint classifications and two mountain classifications, with points awarded to the first riders to cross the segment line. This marks a change from the time-based points system of the previous edition.

Qualification format and schedule

The four qualifying races will take place on 6, 8, 22 and 27 August 2025. In order to take part in the qualifying races, all drivers must have completed the MyWhoosh verification process. Anyone who has taken part in the Sunday Race Club at least once in the last six months is considered pre-verified and can take part in the qualifying races directly. Participants can take part in one or all four qualifying races, with the best riders in each category progressing to the semi-finals of the 2025 UCI Cycling Esports World Championships. The results of the open qualifying races and the list of riders advancing to the semi-finals will be announced in September 2025 after the athletes nominated by the national federations have been confirmed.

Semi-finals and live final

Following the completion of the national and public qualifying races, a total of 150 men and 150 women will qualify for the semi-finals, which will take place on 3 October 2025. The semi-finalists will compete in a three-stage event following the same race format as the live final of the championships. All riders in the semi-final stage must be affiliated to their respective national federations. The top 20 riders in each gender category will receive an official invitation to compete in the live final, which will take place in Abu Dhabi on 15 November 2025. MyWhoosh will award semi-final places to the top ranked participants from the open qualifiers who have not been selected by their respective federations.
