The squad of the German professional cycling team Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe for the 2026 season is complete. Among the 30 riders, the newly signed double Olympic time trial world champion Remco Evenepoel and Tour bronze medallist Florian Lipowitz stand out. Former ski mountaineer Toni Palzer is no longer part of the team.

The new season can begin: Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe has published its squad for the 2026 season. The most important new addition is the double Olympic champion and current world champion in the individual time trial, Belgian Remco Evenepoel. The 25-year-old winner of the Tour of Spain strengthens the cyclist faction in the racing team from Raubling in Upper Bavaria. He joins the team with Tour bronze medallist Florian Lipowitz, who, contrary to rumours to the contrary, is also under contract for next year. The squad also includes multiple Vuelta and Giro winner Primoz Roglic, former Giro winner and Vuelta fourth in 2025, Jai Hindley, and Tour fifth in 2022, the Russian Alexandr Vlasov, as well as the Italian talent Giulio Pellizzari, who recently finished sixth in the Giro and Vuelta. The team presentation on 10 December 2025 in Mallorca should provide the first insights into the distribution of roles between the many classification riders in the coming year.

Toni Palzer: End of cycling career?

In future, only four instead of the previous six German riders will be under contract with the currently only German WorldTour team. In addition to Lipowitz, the Giro stage winner Nico Denz, the former junior world champion Emil Herzog and ex-mountain biker Ben Zwiehoff. Jonas Koch and former world champion in ski mountaineering Toni Palzer are no longer part of the team. Team boss Ralph Denk had already emphasised at the beginning of the past season that Palzer was at a crossroads. Even after several years in the team, the long-serving winter sportsman was still having problems adjusting to world-class cycling. His best result in his four years in the Bora jersey was a tenth place overall in the Tour of Turkey. It is not yet known what will happen next for Palzer or whether he will end his career as a cyclist.
