"In any case Jumbo get a bit of a grip. Roglic caused this crash again, because they just ride the last few centimetres like broken riders, can't do it and then hang themselves on the edge of the road. That's a danger to all riders and totally unnecessary," said the Team Cycling pro Bora-Hansgrohe after the sixth stage.
In the scene mentioned by Schachmann about 13 kilometres before the finish in Longwy, it is not clear from the TV images whether Primoz Roglic caused the crash on Thursday.
All you can see is another rider crashing, Roglic swerving out of the way and riding through the ditch. "Where there's no room, there's no room at that moment. You don't need to switch off everyone," said Schachmann.
The Jumbo-Visma team wants to win the Tour with Roglic or the Dane Jonas Vingegaard. The Slovenian Roglic is already out of contention after his crash on the cobbled stage. A failed wheel change by Vingegaard on the fifth stage made it clear that Jumbo is nervous.
After a defect, the Dane took the bike of his much taller team-mate Nathan Van Hooydonck instead of waiting for the nearby team car. Vingegaard didn't even get on the saddle of the bike. The scene became a laughing stock on social media.
