Sandra Alonso from the CERATIZIT-WNT Pro Cycling Team won the last race of the Women's World Tour 2024. After 134.3 kilometres, the Spaniard crossed the finish line in Nanning together with Giada Borghesi (Human Powered Health). Alonso opened the final sprint confidently and started with powerful kicks. She quickly managed to open up a gap on the Italian rider, who was unable to respond and let go. In the end, Alonso came out clearly ahead of Borghesi and triumphed in the one-day race in China.
The German CERATIZIT-WNT Pro Cycling Team rounded off an almost perfect week with Alonso's victory. The team of sporting director Dirk Baldinger not only won the one-day race, but Marta Lach also took two stages and overall victory at the Tour of Chomgming Island. The Polish rider also finished third in the sprint of the chasing group at the Tour of Guangxi 2024 and can stand on the podium together with team-mate Alonso. Kathrin Schweinberger, who also rides for the German team, also finished fourth.

Idoia Eraso (Laboral Kutxa - Fundacion Euskadi) was the first rider of the day to open up a clear lead over the peloton on the circuit with start and finish in Nanning. With 60 kilometres to go, the Spaniard had a lead of around three minutes on a six-strong chasing group led by Linda Zanardi (Human Powered Health) and Kathrin Schweinberger (CERATIZIT-WNT Pro Cycling Team).
The group then quickly managed to catch up with the leading Spaniard. Around 50 kilometres before the finish, the group caught up with Eraso, meaning that there were now seven riders at the front. Meanwhile, the peloton was only one and a half minutes behind the leading group.
There was now more and more movement in the peloton. Riders kept attacking so that several riders were able to break away and quickly catch up with the leading group. With 35 kilometres to go, the leading group now consisted of around 20 riders.
Giada Borghesi launched the decisive attack immediately after the breakaway. With a spirited attack, the Italian and Sandra Alonso broke away from the leading group. Meanwhile, the other riders in the group showed no reaction, while co-favourite Marta Lach was on the team car at the time and therefore missed the post breakaway.
Although riders like Tiril Jörgensen (Team Coop - Repsol) kept trying to catch up with the leaders, nobody was really able to pull away and chase down the two leading riders. As a result, Borghesi and Alono's lead grew more and more. By the time the duo reached the finishing straight, they had opened up a gap of almost three minutes on their pursuers.
In the final sprint, Sandra Alonso gave Giada Borghesi no chance with a powerful attack and celebrated a dominant victory in the one-day race in Nanning. Marta Lach then won the sprint of the chasing group, taking third place.
