Road cycling events in Germany: RTFs & gravel rides in October

The events organised by the cycling clubs affiliated to the German Cycling Federation range from the Almabtrieb and the Büttgen Autumn RTF to various gravel cycling events. We present a selection of road cycling events.

Prenzlauer Hill Marathon Date: Sat 3 Oct 2026
The Prenzlauer Hügelmarathon offers road cyclists in Brandenburg a season finale featuring a marathon-distance race. The eponymous cycle marathon covers 231 kilometres. The event offers four different routes through the wooded and lake-rich landscape of the Uckermark. On the two longest routes, participants tackle more than 1,000 metres of elevation gain with short climbs. The route includes a stop in Templin, the pearl of the Uckermark, and passes through one of the most beautiful tree-lined avenues in the north, between Berkholz and Gollmitz.

​Nassau Tour Date: Sat 3 Oct 2026
A traditional cycle tour organised by RSV Idstein in the Taunus/Nassau area of Hesse. The route covers approximately 107 km with an elevation gain of around 862 metres through the area around Idstein, organised by Rad-Sport-Verein Idstein 1979 e.V.

Büttgen Autumn RTF Date: Sat 3 Oct 2026
The Büttgen Autumn RTF starts at the Sportforum/Cycling Hall on Olympiastrasse in Kaarst-Büttgen – as an autumn cycle tour, it falls under the category of road cycling events on marked routes, with no time pressure or rankings. Traditionally, the RTF, which starts at the Büttgen velodrome, is one of the final events in the German Cycling Federation’s annual calendar for recreational sport.

PanAromaGravel Bühlertal Date: Sun 4 Oct 2026
The PanAromaGravel is a new cycling event at the foot of the Black Forest – the varied routes take participants through the highlands of the Northern Black Forest, the fruit-growing meadows of the Rhine Valley and the vineyards of the Ortenau. True to the motto ‘Stunning panoramic views paired with the finest Baden cuisine’, the event is a must for cyclists and nature lovers alike.

Gütersloh Gravel Day Date: Sat 17 Oct 2026
It’s time for some gravel riding again at the RSV Gütersloh Gravel Day. The start and finish are at LAZ Nord, Am Schlangenbach 93 in Gütersloh. The routes offer a flat mix of tarmac sections as well as field, sand and gravel tracks – an ideal gravel route. Cyclists of all ages are very welcome.
