Rad Race has opened registration for the 2027 edition of its road race in the Allgäu. In addition to the existing team registration, there is a new category for individual riders. The race weekend comprises two separate events over two days.
Cycling Race featuring two races
The Rad Race One Twenty Team Time Trial, presented by Bikeleasing, will take place on 12 June 2027 over a distance of 6.81 km with 340 metres of elevation gain up to the Jochpass. Each team will be allocated an individual start time. The final team time will be calculated as the sum of the times of the first three riders. The main race on 13 June 2027 covers 126 km with 2,230 metres of elevation gain through the Allgäu and the Bregenzerwald. Taking part in the mountain time trial is not compulsory, but it does affect the starting order for the main race.
New solo category: Rad Race One Twenty
Solo entrants register via a selection option in the registration process. In Saturday’s prologue, they will compete in the individual classification for places 1 to 3 in both the women’s and men’s categories, regardless of whether they are part of a team or competing as solo entrants. In the main race, there is a separate classification for solo starters, with places 1 to 3 for both women and men. For the allocation of starting blocks, the individual times of the solo starters are multiplied by three.
Starting grid based on the prologue results
The main race, Rad Race One Twenty, will start in five starting blocks, with a one-minute interval between each. Starting blocks A to D each comprise around 450 people. From starting block E onwards, riders may line up in any order. The allocation is based on the results of the prologue. Teams that did not take part in the prologue will automatically start in the last starting block. The allocation of starting blocks will be announced on Saturday evening.
