The virtual cycling platform MyWhoosh is organising its 2026 Championships as a seven-day tour that riders complete on their own indoor trainer. The event takes place in July and offers an overall classification: the fastest overall time over all seven stages decides the winner. The format is the same as the 2025 edition, but with new stages, an almost identical overall route and the same altitude metres.
The MyWhoosh Championships differ from other e-sports competitions in cycling. While most events revolve around individual, intense performances, the experience of a stage race takes centre stage here. Day after day, fatigue builds up and tactical decisions have to be made on a daily basis. In the final stages, there is a shared feeling that all the remaining riders will hold out together.
According to the platform, this community is at the heart of the event. In 2025, cyclists from 47 countries tackled the seven stages. Together, they covered over 200,000 virtual kilometres and spent more than 6,000 hours in the saddle. For 2026, MyWhoosh is aiming to double the number of riders on the start line.
The prize money of 1,000,000 US dollars (approx. 860,000 euros) will be divided equally between men and women in six competition categories, which will be held separately. Prizes will be awarded in each category, not just to the overall winner. Prizes will also be awarded for the sprint classification and the KOM and QOM mountain classification. Each participant who finishes will receive a MyWhoosh Championships gift pack worth over $700. This is completely separate from the prize money, but in addition to it. Riders do not have to win anything to receive a reward. All they have to do is reach the finish line.
To ensure a fair playing field for thousands of riders, participants complete the MyWhoosh Power Passport test. This short, one-off check is completed in a single session. Step-by-step instructions are available online free of charge. Drivers who have participated in Sunday Race Club within the qualifying period are generally eligible to participate without having to retake the test.
As with the Sunday Race Club, athletes can be subject to MyWhoosh's anti-doping and integrity testing programme during the championships. This policy is the first of its kind and is designed to increase confidence in virtual elite sport. MyWhoosh is introducing these measures to ensure that competition results reflect actual performance and that clean athletes are protected.
Registration starts immediately. Participants are asked to register their interest and complete the Power Passport early so that they are ready to start from the first stage.
