Not to be confused with the traditional Rhön Cycle Marathon, but still a good way to rack up the kilometres. On Saturday, 1 August 2026, the 10th RHÖN300 Cycle Marathon will take place – a leisurely ride through the Hessian, Bavarian and Thuringian Rhön with a family-friendly atmosphere and a maximum of 1,000 participants. Four main routes are planned for road bikes, as well as two new gravel routes – all types of bikes are permitted. The ‘Königsstrecke’ (King’s Route), covering 300 kilometres through the Rhön, features an impressive 5,200 metres of elevation gain. In addition, there is the ‘Northern Loop’ covering 230 km with around 4,000 metres of elevation gain, the ‘Southern Loop’ covering 170 km with 2,800 metres of elevation gain, and a beginners’ loop covering 100 km.

The 28th edition of the Pirker Grenzerfahrung will take place on 9 August 2026. The Pirker GRENZErfahrung is already well known amongst cyclists. Since 2012, it has been expanded to include a marathon route – a cross-border cycle marathon covering 205 km with around 3,150 metres of elevation gain. The Pirker Grenzerfahrung is regarded as the largest cycling event in the Upper Palatinate; in previous years, up to 950 cyclists have taken to the saddle. The event is organised by VC Concordia Pirk e.V., based in Pirk.

With the “Holsteiner Wellenritt”, RSC Kattenberg is once again organising one of northern Germany’s best-known cycle marathons on Sunday 9 August 2026. The 204-kilometre marathon route forms part of both the NordCup Cycling Marathon and the German Cycling Marathon Cup; it is complemented by three signposted RTF routes covering 56, 88 and 130 kilometres. The start and finish are traditionally in Kaltenkirchen, from where all routes head eastwards through the varied landscape of Schleswig-Holstein to the hilly region of Holsteinische Schweiz; over the course of 204 kilometres, participants will tackle more than 1,000 metres of elevation gain. Participants can look forward to beautiful routes in the ‘Land between the Seas’.

The Oderbruch Cycle Marathon will take place on Saturday, 15 August 2026, starting at 8.00 am; the race will start at the Sportmuseum (next to the Gardens of the World), Eisenacher Straße 121, in Berlin-Marzahn, and cover a distance of 220 km. The organiser, BRC Semper, is organising the RTF weekend with tours to the Urstromtal and the Oderbruch. The marathon loop even takes riders into neighbouring Poland – so participants should not forget to bring their identity cards. At the long-established BRC Semper 1925 e.V., even Olympic athletes celebrated their first cycling successes. On 6 July 1951, three sports enthusiasts from the club founded a cycle touring group, which began organising tours of the Berlin countryside from 1952 onwards – in the years that followed, interest and membership numbers rose steadily.

The 2026 Große Weserrunde will take place on 22 August 2026. The start and finish are in Rinteln, and the routes, which are up to 350 km long, lead as far as Hann. Münden and Porta Westfalica. Riders can choose from routes of 80, 150, 200, 250, 300 and 350 km; it is also possible to switch to a different route whilst on the go, as there are opportunities to take shortcuts at every bridge over the River Weser. The Große Weserrunde began in 2010 as a privately organised long-distance cycle ride and has developed into one of the largest cycling events in the Weserbergland region. Thanks to the support of the Radsportverband Niedersachsen e.V., the Große Weserrunde forms part of the German Cycling Radmarathon Cup.

On Saturday 29 August 2026, the 29th International 16-Dam Cycle Tour, organised by Ski-Club Gevelsberg 1963 e.V., will take place in Gevelsberg. On the marathon route, participants will cover 203 kilometres with an elevation gain of around 3,100 metres. The routes pass by up to 16 reservoirs, some of which are ridden right past – including the Panzertal Reservoir, completed in 1893 and thus the second-oldest drinking water reservoir in Germany. As well as the cycle marathon, the event also features a CTF route covering 14 or 35 km, as well as shorter RTF loops, ensuring there is something for every ability level.
