With the Rotlicht Pro, the German manufacturer Lupine presents the latest generation of its rear light for bicycles with 22 high-performance LEDs from Osram, packaged in a high-quality aluminium housing. In addition to an enormous luminosity of up to 120 lumens, the rechargeable rear light offers a homogeneous 360-degree light distribution, sensors for automatic switch-on and brake light function as well as up to 40 hours of battery life.

The Bavarian lighting specialist Lupine is expanding its range of bicycle lights with the new Rotlicht Pro. The rear light is a completely revised version of the popular predecessor model, which the developers from Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz claim to have worked on for over two years. The result bears the typical Lupine DNA in terms of quality, durability and smart functions.

High-quality aluminium housing

As with all products from the German manufacturer, the housing of the new Rotlicht Pro is made of high-quality aluminium. Lupine uses CNC-milled 6061-T6 aluminium for the rear light, which is waterproof to IPX6 and impact-resistant to IK09. This choice of material should not only ensure a long service life, but also give the product an elegant appearance.

The frame, also made of aluminium, beautifully integrates the specially developed Frosted Optic lens into the design. This design ensures maximum safety in road traffic by emitting light from the side. This means that cyclists can also be seen better from the side, which can be a decisive safety factor, especially at junctions or when turning.

Innovative LED technology for homogeneous light

At the heart of the Rotlicht Pro are a total of 22 Synios LEDs from the manufacturer Osram. These emitters were specially developed for the automotive sector and, according to Lupine, form the perfect basis for the new rear light.

The reason for this is the innovative 360-degree beam characteristic of the LEDs, which ensures particularly homogeneous illumination. In combination with the special lens, the Rotlicht Pro produces an absolutely uniform light in a rich red colour. Another advantage of the new LED generation is its enormous brightness, which means that the Rotlicht Pro produces up to 120 lumens.

Smart sensors for greater safety

The new Red Light Pro has several integrated sensors. A brake light sensor ensures that the brightness is suddenly increased when the bike decelerates or stops - similar to cars or motorbikes. A brightness sensor is installed to automatically switch on the rear light, which recognises when darkness sets in.

Long battery life and easy charging

The Red Light Pro can be easily charged via an integrated USB-C port and is therefore quickly ready for use again anytime and anywhere. The 840 mAh battery can be fully charged in just two hours and then enables an operating time of between 10 and 40 hours, depending on the model variant.

The current charge status is briefly displayed on the outer illuminated ring when the Rotlicht Pro is switched on, so that users can quickly recognise when the rear light needs to be charged. Even with regular use, one battery charge should last for several days or even weeks.

Different model variants for different requirements

The Red Light Pro will be available in three different versions to fulfil the different requirements and legal regulations. For the German market, Lupine is offering the rear light in the StVZO-compliant version, which has the continuous light modes "Medium" and "Maximum".

The international version, on the other hand, has additional flashing and pulse modes, which are permitted or even desirable in some countries, but do not comply with the StVZO guidelines in Germany. This model variant is also available as a safety light with a rucksack clip, which makes it particularly interesting for commuters who want to be clearly visible away from their bike.
