The traditional French team Cofidis will start the 2026 season with equipment from Uvex. The accessories specialist from Fürth will equip the racing team led by Emanuel Buchmann with helmets and sports eyewear. Following its relegation from the WorldTour, Cofidis will compete as a second-category pro team this year.

In recent years, Uvex has acted as a supplier for Intermarché-Wanty. However, due to the merger of Georg Zimmermann's team with the Lotto racing team, the newly formed team has changed its equipment. Instead of helmets and sports glasses from Uvex, the Belgian team will be riding with products from Ekoi in future. By joining Cofidis, the German sporting goods manufacturer will remain visible in professional cycling in 2026. The new partnership between Uvex and Cofidis combines two traditional names in cycling: while the accessories specialist is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, the professional team can look back on almost 30 years of history.

Although Cofidis was relegated to the second tier after last season, as one of the three best pro teams it still has the right to start in the most important races, including the Tour de France (4 to 26 July). Alongside Buchmann, Ion Izagirre (Spain), Bryan Coquard (France) and Dylan Teuns (Belgium) are the best-known names in the traditional racing team. However, Cofidis will not be at the start of the season in Australia (20 to 25 January).

New helmet in March

Buchmann & Co. will be wearing the Surge Aero Mips, the current top model from Uvex. The special feature of the helmet is a special interchangeable cover that can be attached to the upper shell and is designed to improve aerodynamics. Interesting: In the official press release, Uvex states that Cofidis had the Surge Aero Mips in use "at the beginning of the year" and announces: "A new performance helmet is already in the starting blocks for the spring classics in March 2026." Further models are also set to follow for the Tour de France. For time trials, the French team relies on the Race 8 with magnetic visor.
