Trek Émonda SL 6

The 2024 "Émonda SL 6" model from Trek is a highly advanced road bike designed for discerning riders. It is available at a price of 4,499 EUR and offers an impressive combination of lightness, stiffness and state-of-the-art technology.

The Émonda SL 6’s frame is constructed from ultra-light 500 Series OCLV carbon, renowned for its outstanding performance. The perfectly tuned and optimised performance tubes, together with the tapered head tube, ensure excellent riding stability and precision. The internal cable routing and DuoTrap S compatibility contribute to aerodynamic efficiency, whilst the flat-mount disc brake mounts and 142 x 12 mm thru-axle ensure reliable braking performance and stiffness. The maximum rider weight is 125 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs just 8 kg.

The Émonda SL 6’s braking system consists of Shimano 105 series hydraulic disc brakes, both front and rear, with Shimano RT70 brake discs (160 mm) and Centre Lock. These offer outstanding braking power and control in a wide range of conditions. Gear changes are handled by the Shimano 105 R7170 12-speed shifter and the Shimano 105 R7150 Di2 front derailleur, enabling precise and rapid gear changes.

The bike’s fork is the Émonda SL full-carbon fork with a tapered carbon steerer tube and internal brake cable routing. The crankset consists of a Shimano 105 R7100 with a 50/34-tooth ratio and a crank arm length of 172.5 mm. A matching threaded Praxis T47 bottom bracket is fitted. The cassette is a Shimano 105 7101 with a range of 11–34 teeth and 12 speeds.

The handlebars are Bontrager Elite VR-C aluminium bars with a width of 42 cm, a reach of 100 mm and a drop of 124 mm. The stem is a Trek RCS Pro with an angle of -7 degrees and a length of 100 mm. The wheelset consists of Bontrager Aeolus Elite 35 OCLV carbon rims, which are tubeless-ready and have a rim depth of 35 mm. These are fitted with thru-axles at both the front and rear (100 x 12 mm at the front, 142 x 12 mm at the rear).

The saddle is a Bontrager Aeolus Comp with steel rails and a width of 145 mm, mounted on a Bontrager carbon seatpost with a 20 mm offset. The bike’s packaging dimensions are: width 23 mm, height 119 mm and length 201 mm.

The frame geometry comprises a reach of 39 mm, a stack of 56 mm, a seat tube length of 52 mm, a top tube length of 56 mm, a head tube angle of 74 degrees, a seat tube angle of 73 degrees, a head tube length of 15 mm, a chainstay length of 41 mm, a standover height of 77 mm and a wheelbase of 98 mm.
