Trek Émonda ALR 5

The "Émonda ALR 5" model from Trek, released in 2023, is a high-quality road bike designed for discerning riders. It is characterised by its ultra-light frame made from 300 Series Alpha Aluminium, which, thanks to Invisible Weld technology, is not only exceptionally light but also aesthetically pleasing. Weighing just 9 kg and with a maximum rider weight of 125 kg, the Émonda ALR 5 offers an impressive combination of lightness and stability.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano 105 hydraulic disc brakes, fitted to both the front and rear, with Shimano RT70 Centre Lock disc rotors measuring 160 mm in diameter. These brakes guarantee reliable and precise braking manoeuvres under a wide range of conditions. Gear changes are controlled by the Shimano 105 R7020 shift lever and the Shimano 105 R7000 front derailleur, which enable an 11-speed drivetrain.

The fork is made of full carbon and features a tapered carbon steerer tube as well as internal brake cable routing. It is also fitted with a flat-mount disc brake mount and a 12 x 100 mm thru-axle. The Shimano 105 R7000 crankset, featuring a compact chainring (50/34) and 170 mm crank arms, combined with the Shimano 105 R7000 cassette (11-30, 11-speed) and the Shimano 105 HG601 chain, ensures efficient power transfer.

The handlebars are Bontrager Comp VR-C aluminium handlebars with a diameter of 31.8 mm, a reach of 100 mm, a drop of 124 mm and a width of 40 cm. The stem is a Bontrager Elite with a clamp diameter of 31.8 mm, Blendr compatibility, a 7-degree angle and a length of 90 mm. The tyres are Bontrager R1 Hard-Case Lite with a wire bead, a thread count of 60 TPI and dimensions of 700 x 25C.

The wheelset consists of Bontrager Paradigm SL Tubeless-Ready rims with an internal width of 21 mm and thru-axles (100 x 12 mm at the front and 142 x 12 mm at the rear). The saddle is a Bontrager Verse Comp with steel rails and a width of 155 mm, whilst the seatpost is a Bontrager Comp made from 6061 aluminium, with a diameter of 27.2 mm, an offset of 8 mm and a length of 330 mm.

The Émonda ALR 5 also features precise geometry specifications: the seat tube length is 48 mm, the top tube length measures 53 mm, the head tube angle is 73 degrees and the seat tube angle is 74 degrees. The head tube is 12 mm long, the chainstay length is 41 mm, the standover height is 73 mm and the wheelbase measures 98 mm in total. The bike’s dimensions are as follows: width 21 mm, height 119 mm and length 189 mm.
