Trek Checkpoint ALR 4

The "Checkpoint ALR 4" model from the "Trek" brand, released in 2024, offers a good balance of performance and versatility at a price of 1,799 EUR. The frame is made from 300 Series Alpha aluminium and features a tapered head tube, internal cable routing and a 3S chain guide. The frame also features a T47 bottom bracket, rack and mudguard eyelets, and integrated mounting points for a frame bag. The flat-mount disc brake mounts and the 142 x 12 mm thru-axle round off the specifications. The maximum load capacity is 125 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs just 9 kg.

The braking system consists of Tektro C550 mechanical 2-piston disc brakes, fitted to both the front and rear, with a Centre Lock mount and 160 mm brake discs. The gear lever is an SRAM Apex with 11 speeds. The fork is made from full carbon, has a tapered carbon steerer tube and is fitted with mounts for a luggage rack and mudguards. It also features a flat-mount disc brake mount and a 12x100 mm thru-axle.

The crankset consists of an SRAM Apex 1 with a 40-tooth chainring and a crank arm length of 172.5 mm. The bottom bracket is an SRAM DUB with a T47 thread. The cassette is a SRAM PG-1130 with a 11–42-tooth range and is also 11-speed. The drivetrain is complemented by a SRAM PC-1130 chain.

The handlebars are Bontrager Elite Gravel with a width of 42 cm, whilst the stem is a Bontrager Elite with a clamp diameter of 31.8 mm, Blendr compatibility and a 7-degree angle. The stem is 80 mm long. The wheelset consists of Bontrager Paradigm rims, which are tubeless-ready and have an internal width of 21 mm. The hubs are made of aluminium with sealed bearings and Centre Lock disc mounts.

The saddle is a Bontrager Verse Comp with steel rails and a width of 145 mm. The seatpost is also by Bontrager, made from aluminium, with a diameter of 27.2 mm, a 12 mm offset and a length of 330 mm.

The packaging dimensions are 25 mm wide, 76 mm high and 137 mm long. Further specific dimensions of the bike are: a reach of 40 mm, a stack of 57 mm, a seat tube length of 54 mm, a top tube length of 57 mm, a head tube angle of 72 degrees, a seat tube angle of 73 degrees, a head tube length of 12 mm, a chainstay length of 44 mm, a standover height of 79 mm and a wheelbase of 104 mm.
