Scott Scale RC 400

The "Scale RC 400" model from Scott, released in 2024, offers an impressive combination of lightness and performance at a price of 899 EUR. The bike’s frame is made from JR24 Rigid Disc light, constructed from a robust 6061 alloy with a curved top tube, a semi-integrated head tube and SCOTT dropouts. The maximum load capacity is 70 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs just 8 kg.

The Scale RC 400’s braking system is fitted with high-quality Shimano BR-MT500 disc brakes, both front and rear. These are operated by Shimano BL-MT501 brake levers. The brake discs are Shimano SM-RT56 models with a diameter of 160 mm, both at the front and rear.

The drivetrain features the Shimano Deore RD-M5100 11-speed system, controlled by the Shimano Deore SL-M5100-R shifter. The fork features a rigid AL-6061 construction with a 1 1/8" head tube. The bottom bracket is a Feimin BB68 cartridge with a square taper, whilst the crankset is a Prowheel BOOM-32P with a 140 mm crank and 32 teeth. The cassette is a SunRace CSMX8 with 11 speeds and a range of 11–42 teeth, driven by a KMC X11EL chain.

The handlebars are Premetec 6019F flat bars with a diameter of 25.4 mm and a width of 580 mm, fitted with Syncros Youth 100 grips. The stem is a LEADTEC LCS-7091 model, 50 mm long and also with a diameter of 25.4 mm. The headset consists of Feimin FP-H809 sealed bearings.

The Scale RC 400 rides on Alexrims MD19 Disc rims, fitted with black 15G UCP spokes. The tyres are Schwalbe Rocket Ron Evolution models with ADDIX Speed Compound, a density of 67EPI and dimensions of 24x2.25". The hubs are a Formula DC-140-F at the front and a Formula DC-38-R at the rear, both fitted with quick-release skewers.

The saddle is a Syncros Future Pro model, mounted on an Alloy 2014 seatpost with zero offset and dimensions of 27.2x300 mm. The pedals are Wellgo J345 models with reflectors.

The bike’s packaging dimensions are 21 mm wide, 68 mm high and 124 mm long, with a gross weight of 13,160 g. Overall, the Scott Scale RC 400 offers a good balance between performance and weight, making it ideal for young riders looking for a high-quality mountain bike.
