Scott Scale 20 blue

The "Scale 20 blue" model from Scott, released in 2024, is a high-quality children’s bike available for 399 EUR. The bike’s frame is made from a robust aluminium alloy (Alloy 6061) and features a semi-integrated head tube and special SCOTT dropouts for V-brakes. The maximum load capacity is 50 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 10 kg.

The Scale 20 blue’s braking system comprises Tektro V-brakes at the front and rear, which have been specially developed for children. The brake levers are Tektro Junior JL-510 TS / RS models and ensure safe and easy handling. The gear system consists of a Shimano RD-TY300 with 7 speeds, operated via the Shimano SL-RV300-7 Revo shifter.

The SR Suntour XCT-JR 20 fork ensures a comfortable ride, with 40 mm of travel and a softer spring specifically tuned to children’s lower body weight. The pedals are also designed with children in mind and fitted with reflectors. The bottom bracket is a Feimin BB68 with a cartridge and square taper, whilst the Prowheel crankset consists of a 127 mm aluminium crank and a 36-tooth chainring.

The cassette is from SunRace and offers a 7-speed range from 13 to 34 teeth. The drivetrain is completed by a KMC Z7 chain. The handlebars are aluminium Kids Riser Bars, 540 mm wide with a 20 mm rise, complemented by Syncros Kids100/80 grips. The stem is also made of aluminium, has a length of 50 mm and an angle of +10°, with a clamp width of 25.4 mm.

The rims are Shining V-6NS and are held in place by black 15G spokes. The tyres are Kenda K1227 Booster, measuring 20x2.2" with a TPI of 30, fitted to both the front and rear. The front hub is a KT-122F and the rear a KT-122R, both secured with nuts.

The saddle is a Syncros Future Pro, mounted on an aluminium seatpost with a diameter of 26.8 mm and a length of 250 mm. A handy kickstand is also included. The bike is supplied in packaging measuring 20 mm wide, 63 mm high and 109 mm long, and has a gross weight of 14220 g. The model is available in ‘One size’ and is designated ‘SCO Scale 20 blue’.
