Lapierre Sensium Junior

The "Sensium Junior" model from Lapierre, released in 2022, is a bike designed specifically for young cyclists; priced at 849 EUR, it falls into the mid-range category. The frame is made from a new Sensium Junior Supreme 5 alloy with smooth welds, ensuring stability and an attractive appearance. The Alhonga Cantilever HJ-924AD brakes offer reliable braking performance, whilst the Shimano Claris RD-R2000-GS 8-speed derailleur enables precise and easy gear selection. The gear system is supported by Shimano Claris ST-R2000 2x8s shift levers, and the front derailleur is also a model from the Claris range, the FD-R2000-BM.

The bike’s fork is made from a new Sensium Junior alloy and features an alloy handlebar. The VP-335 Clips&Strap pedal system provides a secure grip for the feet. The bottom bracket is an FSA JIS 68 with a threaded cartridge bearing, ensuring durability. The FSA Tempo JIS aluminium crankset is fitted with 46-30T chainrings and has a length of 155 mm, which supports efficient power transfer. The cassette is a Sunrace CSM66 with a 12–34-tooth range and is made of nickel for increased durability. The drivetrain is completed by a KMC Z8 chain.

The Lapierre alloy handlebars measure 360 mm and have a 20° flare, allowing for a comfortable riding position. The stem is also made from Lapierre alloy, has a -7° angle, a diameter of 31.8 mm and a length of 60 mm. Steering is provided by an FSA NO.10 semi-integrated headset. The rims are made from Lapierre alloy, with 32 spokes, a size of 27.5 inches and a width of 19-584 mm. The Schwalbe G-One Allround Performance tyres offer good grip and versatility on a variety of surfaces.

The hubs are Shimano models, with an HB-RS300 at the front and an FH-RS300 freehub at the rear. The Selle Italia X3 Boost saddle offers comfort on longer rides, whilst the Lapierre alloy seatpost, with a diameter of 27.2 mm and a length of 350 mm, holds the saddle securely in place. Overall, the Sensium Junior is a well-equipped bike that appeals to young riders who value quality and performance.
