With the ONE, Leeze presents its first self-developed aero road bike. The wheel specialist from Münsterland delivers a race-ready package with carbon wheels and Shimano Ultegra Di2 R8100 for a fair €5,999.

Topics in this article

The wheel manufacturer from Havixbeck, so far mainly known for inexpensive carbon wheelsdeveloped the ONE as an aero race bike for circuit races and criteriums. The Leeze Factory Racing Team is already using the bike for racing. The development focussed on good aerodynamics, agility and suitability for racing.

After the Gravel bike Bomberg GX is that ONE is the second complete wheel from the wheel specialist. The aerodynamics of the frame were developed in a digital wind tunnel, a process that the wheel manufacturer already uses to optimise its rims. All aerodynamically relevant profile cross-sections have a Kammtail shape. The down tube varies in its cross-section: wide near the bottom bracket for stiffness when pedalling hard, tapered towards the centre for better aerodynamics. This shape directs the airflow behind the front wheel over the frame. The flared, tapered seat stays with a comb tail shape are designed to direct the air. In the digital aerodynamics simulations, this detail is said to have achieved a disproportionately large advantage. However, the manufacturer does not provide any figures for categorisation.

The new Leeze ONE is now available for 5999 Euro available directly from the manufacturer.

Geometry and short cranks

A compact reach combined with a longer stem and raised head tube results in an aerodynamic position with precise handling. The standard zero-offset seatpost actively positions the rider above the bottom bracket. A seatpost with 15 mm offset is available as an option.

Leeze is also picking up on a current trend in professional sport and installing shorter cranks ex works: 165 mm in sizes XS to M and 170 mm in L and XL. Feedback from the Factory Racing Team led to this decision. The shortened crank arms ensure a more open hip angle in low aero positions, favour high cadences and improve cornering dynamics.

Carbon cockpit as standard

A one-piece carbon cockpit is also part of the package. With a 70 mm reach, 120 mm drop and 4° flare, it offers modern dimensions. Handlebar widths from 380 mm to 420 mm and stem lengths from 80 mm to 120 mm are available. The configuration is matched to the frame sizes and is UCI-compliant.

When travelling by plane, the PRO Cockpit can be separated from the steerer tube without having to disconnect the brake lines thanks to simple cable routing. A computer mount under the handlebars is compatible with standard Garmin and Wahoo mounts as well as numerous other mount solutions.

High-quality wheels, wide tyres

Every Leeze ONE is delivered ex works with the new Leeze CC 60 PRO R wheels with carbon spokes. The tyres are Continental GP 5000 S TR in 30 mm width and extra-light Continental TPU tubes. The tyre clearance of the frame is up to 32 mm tyre width.
