The Danish company Fusion Sportswear is always in demand in cycling and triathlon when it comes to the final optimisation in the area of Aerodynamics goes. Jonas Vingegaard, for example, has found potential for optimisation in the company's wind tunnel. The company is also a sponsor of the Teams Uno-X in cycling. The Danes are experts in the field of aerodynamic sportswear. Now the company is opening the doors to its professional performance system and offering ambitious athletes the opportunity to benefit from the same services that are otherwise reserved for world champions, record holders and Tour de France riders with the "Fusion Pro Experience". The one-year programme includes a comprehensive service package with wind tunnel tests, technical advice, customised equipment and access to the company's professional network. The offer is limited to five participants worldwide and will be available from 24 November 2023 at 16:00 for the proud price of 18,000 euros. The good news: Fusion is also giving away an additional place to all interested parties who register in advance on the company website.
The programme is aimed at various target groups: Professional athletes who want to maximise their potential or ambitious age-group triathlon athletes. The core of the programme consists of structured performance optimisation over a full year, which includes various components. However, there is neither a training programme nor any equipment in the package.
At the centre of the Fusion Pro Experience is a two-day stay in the wind tunnel. Here, aerodynamics engineers analyse the athlete's position, make recommendations on the best choice of helmet, optimise the placement of drinking bottles and identify the most efficient materials for sportswear. Every step is measured, documented and refined until the lowest possible air resistance is achieved. Participants are involved in the process and can make before and after comparisons to see exactly where and why they are gaining seconds or minutes. This is the same process that professional athletes go through before Hawaii, Kona and the Tour de France. Accommodation is included in the package.
This is supplemented by an individual online session with Fusion's aerodynamics specialists. Here, the analyses and gains from the wind tunnel work are reviewed and a strategy plan is drawn up. This includes route analyses and identifies where the athlete can gain free watts, where additional effort should be invested and where energy can be saved for the run. Participants receive a complete overview of their aerodynamic strengths and weaknesses.
A central element of the programme is the customised Tempo! Pro Tri Suit. This is the same garment that Fusion develops and produces for its world champions. Every detail is handmade in Europe. Participants can choose their name, flag and individual design elements. The suit is tailored precisely to the individual's body measurements.
In addition, participants receive a complete kit for training, competition and recovery, which is put together according to their needs, the climate and the scope of their training. Fusion applies the same systematic approach as it does for its professional athletes: each garment must function as part of a unified ecosystem, from base layer to competition configuration. The aim is for athletes to be able to train every day in all conditions and be perfectly prepared for their main event. The durability of the garments ensures that many pieces can be used for years to come.
The Fusion Pro Experience begins with an athlete performance workshop. This is where the goals for the season and the coming years are defined together and what is required to achieve them is determined: Time, training, investment and structure. Another component is a virtual exchange with one of the Fusion professional athletes. This is not about big words, but about routines, decisions and day-to-day discipline. How do they structure their recovery? How do they prepare mentally? How do they deal with the pressure before the biggest races? Participants will have the opportunity to ask personal questions and gain first-hand insights from athletes who have gone through these experiences.
During the visit to Fusion's headquarters in Denmark, a professional photo session will be conducted in the company's studio and testing facilities. Both action and portrait shots will be taken, which can be used for social media and personal branding. The entire visit will be documented and participants will receive the full image package. These are the same photographers and settings that Fusion uses for its professional campaigns.
Last but not least, the participants become part of the Fusion Performance network. If required, the company will put them in touch with the same experts who support the professional athletes: Bike fitters, nutrition specialists, coaches and technical partners.
The Fusion Pro Experience programme costs €18,000 and includes all sessions, consultations, clothing and equipment. There are only five places available worldwide, which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis on 24 November at 16:00. Interested parties can register on Fusion's website to gain access to one of the available places and be automatically entered into the draw for the additional free place.
