At the age of just 21, Thibau Nys (Lidl-Trek) is already celebrating his tenth professional victory. The Belgian won stage 3 of the Tour de Pologne 2024 on Wednesday in the sprint of a small group ahead of Diego Ulissi (UAE Team Emirates) and Wilco Kelderman (Visma | Lease a Bike).
It was Nys' second win of the day this year after he had already at the start had his nose in front. Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike) held his own at the top of the overall standings. The two-time winner of the Tour de France reached the finish with the first group, which comprised a total of 21 riders, in ninth place on the day. The best German was Maximilian Schachmann (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe) in 24th place, 19 seconds behind.
The Tour of Poland 2024 runs until next Sunday, when it ends in Krakow. On Thursday, the sprinters could cheer for the first time on the 195.3 kilometres between Kudowa-Zdroj and Prudnik.
