The 21-year-old Canadian from Team Picnic PostNL prevailed as a soloist after 114.3 kilometres from Hartlepool to Saltburn-by-the-Sea. It was Roldan's first victory in a World Tour race and also the first stage win for a Canadian rider in the history of the Tour of Britain Women. Riejanne Markus (Lidl - Trek) followed in second and third place, 12 seconds behind, with Ally Wollaston (FDJ - SUEZ) a further six seconds behind. For a long time, the race was characterised by a three-rider breakaway group around Tiffany Keep (DAS - Hutchinson), Lucy Gadd (Smurfit Westrock Cycling Team) and Madelaine Leech (Handsling Alba Development Road Team). The three riders were able to break away from the field early on and open up a maximum lead of over three minutes. Keep secured important points at the intermediate sprints and in the mountain classification.
