Jonathan Milan celebrates his second stage win at Tirreno-Adriatico 2025 after his success on stage 2. After Jake Steward (Israel - Premier Tech) opened the sprint, Jonathan Milan passed the Brit on the left and Sam Bennett (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team) on the right. Milan and Bennett fought a duel at eye level for the stage win. In the end, Milan had the luckier end on his side, winning just ahead of the Decathlon sprinter. With the stage win, Milan also snatched the points classification at Tirreno-Adriatico 2025, with Olav Kooij (Visma | Lease a Bike) finishing well behind the duo in third place. The sprint was dampened by a crash involving Paul Magnier (Soudal - Quick Step) and other riders on the finishing straight. However, all riders were able to get up and cross the finish line.

Ganna and Milan make common cause - Ayuso wins Tirreno-Adriatico 2025
As expected, Juan Ayuso finished more than half a minute ahead of Antonio Tiberi (Bahrain - Victorious) in the overall standings, making him the overall winner of Tirreno-Adriatico 2025. Behind him, Filippo Ganna (INEOS Grenadiers) was able to push Antonio Tiberi (Bahrain - Victorious) out of second place. Accelerated by Jonathan Milan, Ganna grabbed three bonus seconds at the intermediate sprint to overtake Tiberi in the overall standings. As a thank you, Ganna put his compatriot Milan in a promising position before the finishing straight, from where Milan was able to celebrate his stage win. Although the two Italians do not ride for the same team, they helped each other to their successes.

How the 7th stage of Tirreno-Adriatico 2025 went
Around 10 kilometres into the final 7th stage of Tirreno-Adriatico 2025 between Porto Potenza Picena and San Benedetto del Tronto, a five-rider lead group broke away. Among them were Kevin Vauquelin (Arkea - B&B Hotels), Lucas Hamilton (INEOS Grenadiers), Bjoern Koerdt (Team Picnic PostNL), Manuele Tarozzi (VF Group - Bardiani CSF - Faizane) and Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin - Deceuninck). The group harmonised well and quickly built up a solid cushion ahead of the peloton.
INEOS steps on the accelerator
There, INEOS Grenadiers took over the chase in the hope of winning the intermediate sprint 45 kilometres from the finish. Filippo Ganna was only one second behind Antonio Tiberi in the overall standings and could thus overtake his compatriot. INEOS set a good pace around the peloton in order to catch up with the breakaway group in time.
Mathieu van der Poel in particular fought valiantly in the breakaway group, but even the Dutchman was unable to prevent the peloton from joining him. The time had come with 93 kilometres to go. Because INEOS Grenadiers was pushing so hard, some riders had problems staying in the peloton. Even top sprinters like Dylan Groenewegen (Team Jayco AlUla) had to leave the peloton for a while, but then came back as the race progressed.
Healy attack is quickly countered
In fact, Filippo Ganna won the intermediate sprint classification with the help of Jonathan Milan, bagging the three bonus seconds and moving past Antonio Tiberi into second place in the overall standings. Shortly afterwards, Ben Healy (EF Education - EasyPost) attacked. However, he was controlled by the sprinter teams and was caught by the peloton a short time later.
Once again, no rider dared to attempt a breakaway and it came down to a bunch sprint, as Visma | Lease a Bike and Lidl-Trek controlled the peloton well. In the bunch sprint, Jonathan Milan and Sam Bennett fought a close duel, which the Italian won in the end.
