At the final award ceremony in Madrid, Vingegaard presented himself with a red saddle matching the colour of the leader's jersey, representing his triumph in the third grand tour. For saddle manufacturer Prologo, which is a partner of the Visma | Lease a Bike team, Vingegaard's victory signalled the continuation of a successful season, following Simon Yates' Giro d'Italia victory and Vingegaard's second place at the Tour de France.

The partnership between the Italian saddle manufacturer Prologo and the Dutch team Visma | Lease a Bike has proven to be extremely successful in its debut season. In addition to Vingegaard's Vuelta victory and his second place at the Tour de France, the team won the Giro d'Italia with Simon Yates. The collaboration also recorded notable successes in women's cycling: Pauline Ferrand-Prévot secured overall victory at the Tour de France Femmes and also triumphed at Paris-Roubaix Femmes. At the Vuelta a España 2025, the team's riders relied on the saddles Scratch M5 PAS and Predator 01TT CPC from Prologo. This technical equipment supported Vingegaard throughout the three weeks of the race, especially in his decisive attacks on the climbs, which were ultimately decisive for his overall victory. The symbolic red saddle that Vingegaard presented at the award ceremony in Madrid symbolised the successful collaboration between the athlete and the supplier.

Prologo saddles dominate Vuelta stage wins

Prologo's presence at the Vuelta a España 2025 was not limited to Team Visma | Lease a Bike. A total of eight teams in the race were equipped with saddles from the Italian manufacturer, which underlines the broad acceptance of the products in professional cycling. Riders with Prologo saddles won seven of the 19 stages held. In addition to Jonas Vingegaard's three stage wins, David Gaudu from Team Groupama - FDJ and Ben Turner, Egan Bernal and Filippo Ganna from Team INEOS Grenadiers also contributed to this impressive result. These successes across different teams demonstrate the versatility and performance of Prologo products in different racing conditions and riding styles. The stage wins were spread across different terrains - from time trials, where Ganna showed his strength, to demanding mountain stages, where Vingegaard and Bernal shone. This versatility emphasises the adaptability of the saddle models to different cycling requirements.

Significance of the Vuelta victory for Vingegaard's career

With his triumph at the Vuelta a España 2025, Jonas Vingegaard has reached another significant milestone in his career. The 28-year-old Dane, who has already won the Tour de France twice, has now added the Spanish Grand Tour to his palmarès. This success puts him in the illustrious group of riders who have won at least two different three-week tours. The 2025 Vuelta route with its demanding mountain finishes played into the hands of the climbing specialist, who was able to play to his strengths on the climbs. Vingegaard's consistency throughout the race was particularly impressive: 15 days in the overall leader's red jersey are testament to his dominance. For the Visma | Lease a Bike team, this success is further confirmation of their strategy of focussing on several tours throughout the year and not concentrating everything on the Tour de France. After Simon Yates' Giro victory and Vingegaard's second place at the Tour, the Vuelta triumph completes an exceptionally successful Grand Tour season for the Dutch team.
