Prologo is expanding its range of 3D-printed saddles with the Scratch M5 PAS. The saddle cover of the new racing saddle consists of several layers of material from the 3D printer. Based on pressure analyses of different rider types, the saddle should be suitable for every riding position.

The new Scratch M5 PAS 3DMSS is a further development of the popular predecessor model. The new model retains the ergonomic T-shape and compact dimensions (250 x 140 mm) of its predecessor, but utilises innovative 3D printing technology for the saddle cover. According to the manufacturer, the saddle is the result of extensive studies and tests in which the pressure distribution of different rider types was analysed.

The new saddle cover of the Scratch M5 PAS 3DMSS consists of separate double-layer sectors, which are mapped virtually in advance using a special light projection technique. This enables the production of polymer parts with different mechanical properties, divided into six sectors (three per side), each in two layers with two different densities and elasticities. In this way, the design can be optimally adapted to the individual pressure zones. According to Prologo, the rear sector, for example, has a high density and is correspondingly firm to support the sit bones during pedalling. The centre sector is softer and correspondingly more elastic in order to offer maximum comfort for the soft tissue.



PAS technology for improved blood circulation

The Scratch M5 PAS also integrates Prologo's PAS technology (Perineal Area System). This is an open channel to eliminate pressure peaks and numbness. This is designed to improve blood circulation in one of the most sensitive areas of the body. Two options are available for the struts: The naked version (Nano Carbon Fiber) made of carbon fibre, Kevlar and aluminium filaments aims for maximum stiffness and low weight. The cheaper "Tirox" version made of stainless steel offers a balanced ratio of weight and strength with lower stiffness and better vibration damping.

Availability and technical specifications

Prologo's new top saddle will be available in the online shop and from selected dealers from the beginning of May 2025. The recommended retail price is 390 euros for the version with naked bars and 290 euros for the Tirox version. With a weight of 176 grams (naked) and 209 grams (Tirox), the saddle is aimed at weight-conscious riders who do not want to compromise on comfort. The dimensions of 250 x 140 mm correspond to those of the predecessor model, which is already used by professionals such as Jonas Vingegaard, Egan Bernal and John Degenkolb. Thanks to the combination of 3D printing technology, ergonomic design and proven Prologo technologies such as PAS and MSS (Multi-Sector System), the Scratch M5 PAS 3DMSS should, according to the manufacturer, offer maximum comfort and performance for a wide range of rider types and areas of use - whether on the road or off-road.
