Vingegaard wins the Tour of the Basque Country

The Danish Tour de France winner from Jumbo-Visma won the sixth and final stage around Eibar as a soloist on Saturday and successfully defended the leader's yellow jersey.

Second place in the final classification went to the Spaniard Mikel Landa (Bahrain-Victorious) with a gap of 1:12 minutes, third place went to his compatriot Ion Izagirre (Cofidis) 1:29 minutes back. Vingegaard's previous best result in the tradition-steeped stage race was second place in 2021 behind his team-mate Primoz Roglic.
