The Bahrain-Victorious 2024 jersey has changed significantly compared to last year. The colours red and black are now a thing of the past; the dominant colours in the new season are white and blue. As a result, the jersey is clearly brighter and looks more playful than the previous season's jersey, which was characterised by geometric motifs. Instead, the jersey is more reminiscent of the team's Tour de France jersey from 2023, on which white was already the dominant colour.
As in previous years, the jersey is manufactured by the Italian company Alé, which also supplies a number of other cycling teams such as Jayco-AlUla or Groupama-FDJ supplied with clothing.
The white and light blue colour is intended to represent the pearl deposits and the shallow waters around Bahrain, as the team announced in its press release. The team also explains its decision to move away from black on its jerseys: because black is associated with carbon, it has deliberately chosen not to use the colour. Instead, the team wants to symbolise sustainability with the modified jersey, according to the press release. With a large and playful blue and red "B" on the jersey, it also looks more casual than in previous years.
In addition to the team name, there is also a small inscription "#rideforGino" in memory of the rider Gino Mäder, who tragically died in an accident at the Tour de Suisse 2023. The Swiss rider rode for the Bahrain-Victorious team for two and a half years.
Merida will continue to provide the racing bikes for Bahrain-Victorious in the coming season. The manufacturer's name can also be seen on the sleeves of the jersey.
The Bahrain-Victorious team has been around since 2017, when it was founded under the name Bahrain-Merida. In 2020, the team was called Bahrain-McLaren, and since 2021 Bahrain-Victorious.
