The Dutch accessory manufacturer BBB Cycling developed the CoreCap system in response to the weaknesses of traditional Presta valves. These tend to bend, clog or break with frequent use, especially with tubeless setups. The CoreCap eliminates these problems with a completely new internal design that does not require fragile adapters or unscrewable valve cores.
The most important innovation is the universal Pump compatibility. The CoreCap works directly with standard Schrader pump heads, as used on modern floor pumps and petrol stations. Riders can inflate their tyres anywhere without the need for adapters or special fittings. The internal design maximises air flow for faster and smoother pressure adjustments, while the robust design withstands repeated use and harsh conditions.
According to the manufacturer, the CoreCap system achieves a 300 per cent increase in air flow compared to conventional Presta valves. This improvement results from the elimination of the internal valve core design, which restricts the air flow in traditional systems. The new geometry enables a more direct air flow without turbulence or constrictions.
The compatibility extends to all common Pump headsincluding double-head and auto-select models for Presta, Dunlop or Schrader valves. Whether in the home workshop, in the bike shop or on the road, the CoreCap connects seamlessly to any available pump. This universal applicability eliminates the need to carry different adapters or use special pump heads.
BBB Cycling offers the CoreCap in two configurations. The CoreCap AL Valve Set is a complete tubeless valve system that utilises the integrated CoreCap technology from the ground up. This variant is aimed at riders who want to build new wheels or completely renew existing tubeless systems.
The CoreCap Valve Caps Upgrade Set enables the retrofitting of existing Presta valves with removable cores, including those on hoses. Both versions use the same simplified design that eliminates the fragile internal core and improves air flow by 300 per cent. This results in faster filling and better pressure consistency in all applications.
"The CoreCap solves everything that made traditional Presta valves frustrating," explained Product Manager Roderik Jager. The new design eliminates typical problems such as bent valve rods, clogged mechanisms or broken components. Riders can even inflate their tyres at service stations without the need for additional equipment.
The robust design withstands the stresses of daily use considerably better than conventional Presta valves. The advantage of the reinforced design is particularly evident in tubeless systems, where frequent pressure adjustments are common. The system is designed to function reliably under temperature fluctuations and mechanical stresses that often damage traditional valves.
The CoreCap Valve Caps Upgrade Set costs €16.95 and is available in six colours. This variant enables the cost-effective modernisation of existing valves without having to completely replace the hardware. The set contains all the necessary components for upgrading standard threaded Presta valves.
The CoreCap AL Valve Set is available in three lengths: 40mm for 29.95 euros, 60mm for 32.95 euros and 80mm for 34.95 euros. These complete valve sets are available in two colours and are suitable for new builds or complete system renewals. The different lengths take into account different rim depths from road to aero wheels.
The CoreCap represents a functional evolution of everyday bike components. From workshop set-ups to repairs on the road, it is designed to offer reliable inflation, cleaner operation and full compatibility with existing equipment. The universal pump compatibility could become particularly relevant for touring riders and commuters who rely on different air sources.
BBB Cycling, founded in the Netherlands in 1998, has been developing bicycle accessories with a focus on practical improvements for over 25 years. The company concentrates on durable components that make everyday riding easier. With the CoreCap, BBB Cycling continues this philosophy and addresses a problem that has plagued cyclists for decades.
