Giant is constantly expanding its range of accessories: there are now ten different mini pumps to choose from. TOUR tested the Control Mini Pro CO2 piston air pump.

We tested the Control Mini Pro CO2 mini pump from Giant, which combines a piston air pump and CO2 cartridge. The slim pump is around 20 centimetres long and has a high-quality finish; the two valve heads only fit Presta valves, with one side reserved for use with a cartridge.

The pump piston runs smoothly and without play in the telescopic cylinder, but the slim pump head is difficult to grip with increasing pressure and could be a little easier to hold. We really liked the handling of the cartridge, where the insulated CO2 cartridge serves as a handle extension. The price includes a robust holder for mounting on the bottle cage, as well as a 16 gram cartridge.
