The Vuelta a Espana is, after the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France and takes place this year from 26 August to 17 September. We will be following the race in live ticker format and providing a brief overview of the upcoming stages and the start list in advance.

Vuelta live ticker: The TOUR blog for the 2023 Tour of Spain

The 78th edition of the Vuelta a Espana starts on 26 August in Barcelona. Over the 21 stages and a total of more than 3000 kilometres, the stars of the 22 teams for the overall victory. Last year, Remco Evenepoel took the coveted red jersey after the Slovenian Primoz Roglic had won it the previous three years. Who will ride into Madrid as the winner this year? We will be following the event from stage 2 onwards in our Vuelta live ticker and will provide you with the most important information in advance here in the blog. The riders can expect a mix of flat stages and steep climbs, including nine mountain finishes. The highlight of the Vuelta will be the 13th stage, in which the professional cyclists will have to struggle up the famous Col du Tourmalet. The Vuelta a Espana 2023 will end with the arrival in the Spanish capital Madrid on 17 September, making it the last Grand Tour of the year.
