The Velo d'Or was created by the French magazine Velo Magazine and is the equivalent of the Ballon d'Or in football: the best cyclist is honoured every year. The nominations have now been published.

Since 1992, the Velo d'Or (Golden Bicycle) has honoured the best cyclist. Last year, the organisers introduced a separate category for women. Further categories are to follow this year - including the best classic cyclist. We have compiled the nominations for the Velo d'Or 2023. Once again, 10 men and 10 women have been nominated for the award. In the category "best male or female classic rider" there are only five. Who will win the Velo d'Or 2023?
