Amber Kraak from Team FDJ - SUEZ won stage 2 of the Tour de Suisse Women 2025 on Friday. The 30-year-old Dutchwoman came out on top with an impressive solo ride after 161.7 kilometres from Gstaad to Oberkirch. Kraak attacked out of a breakaway group on the last climb of the day and rode the last 25 kilometres alone at the front. At the finish she had a lead of 1:55 minutes over second-placed Marta Lach (Team SD Worx - Protime). Élise Chabbey (FDJ - SUEZ) completed the podium in third place. It was Kraak's second victory at World Tour level after her success at the UAE Tour Women in February.

Attack on the final mountain

The decisive situation of the stage developed 56 kilometres after the start, when a five-man lead group broke away from the peloton. Alongside Kraak were Marta Lach, Carina Schrempf (Fenix-Deceuninck), Henrietta Christie (EF Education-Oatly) and Agnieszka Skalniak-Sójka (CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto). Skalniak-Sójka dropped back on the Schallenberg Pass, while the other four riders stayed together until the final climb of the day, the Buechehübeli. Kraak, who was initially supposed to protect her team-mate Demi Vollering's position in the overall standings, decided to go solo on the final climb and won.

There were no major shifts in the overall standings. The Swiss rider Marlen Reusser from Team Movistar defended the leader's yellow jersey. She is still four seconds ahead of Demi Vollering and 1:21 minutes ahead of Kasia Niewiadoma, who made up a few seconds.
