Konnte bei den Massensprints mit guten Leistungen auf sich aufmerksam machen: Phil Bauhaus.
Phil Bauhaus dropped out of the 17th stage of the Tour de France. The sprinter was alone at the back of the field after the first of a total of four climbs on the difficult mountain stage to Courchevel.

The 28-year-old was in danger of dropping out of the time limit. Around 105 kilometres before the finish, the rider from Bocholt finally gave up. Bauhaus had made a name for himself in the Tour's bunch sprints with one second and two third places.

Tour de France 2023: Phil Bauhaus complained of fatigue

"If I fall out, it will be difficult," Bauhaus had already said before the stage with a view to the Gruppetto. In this group, the sprinters join together in the mountains and support each other. After the individual time trial on Tuesday, Bauhaus was already complaining about being very tired and said: "The Tour is by far the hardest thing I've done so far."

In the current Tour, over 55,000 metres of altitude have to be conquered, on Wednesday alone there were around 5,400 metres. The Tour of France has not been this difficult for over ten years.
